William Gardner, born on May 22, 1954, in South Burlington, Vermont, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2024. He was a beloved figure whose life was characterized by a deep love for family, a generous spirit, and a heartfelt commitment to his passions.
William was widely recognized for his achievements during his high school years at South Burlington High School, where he excelled at football, earning accolades for his performance as an outstanding center. After graduating, he built a career as a truck driver in Houston Texas, and contributed many years of dedicated service to A.C. Paving and Engineers Construction, Inc.
Family was the cornerstone of William's existence. He is survived by his siblings, Linda Smith, Sue Straight, David Gardner and Edward Gardner, and many nieces and nephews, including Christopher and Gregory Smith, Rob Straight, Genevieve Fullilove, Erica Furukawa, Keith Straight, Christopher Stockamore, Michelle Tahair, and Katie Gardner. His younger relatives Sarah, Eddie, and Emily Gardner also cherished their time with him, as he consistently brought joy and warmth to their lives.
An avid fisherman, William found solace in the beauty of nature during his spare time, whether it was spearing, deer hunting, or tending to his well-loved vegetable garden. He took great pleasure in tinkering with his collection of Wheel Horse tractors, relishing the opportunity to combine his craftsmanship with his love for machinery. Winter months brought a delight in snowmobiling and ice fishing, pursuits that underscored his adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors.
William was preceded in death by his brother Michael Gardner who will be remembered alongside him as part of the loving legacy he leaves behind.
As we celebrate William Gardner’s life, we honor a man whose caring heart and selfless nature touched all those who were fortunate enough to know him. His memory will live on through the countless stories and cherished moments shared with family and friends, who will continue to feel his enduring presence in their lives.
