Wayne Francis Cota Sr

Burlington, VT--Wayne Cota, 79, passed away July 1, 2022 at University of Vermont Medical Center. Wayne was born on February 11, 1943 in Milton, Vermont, the son of Perley Cota and Myrle Cota (LaFontaine). He was married to Mary Teresa Medlar. Wayne was a veteran of the Vietnam war with the Marine Corps and a Corrections officer at Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility for most of his working life. He is survived by his wife Mary, his children, Wayne (Liz) Cota II, and Michele (Robert) Duell; his three sisters Cynthia (Cota) Day, Carol (Cota) (Gary) Hopper, and Linda (Cota) (Eugene) Dumas; and his grandchildren Amanda, Mason, Wayne, Robbie, and Samantha; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. All services will be private. Wayne was predeceased by his parents Perley Cota and Myrle Cota (LaFontaine) as well as his brother Pearl W. Cota.
