Steven “Steve” Hatin, of Milton, VT, 67, passed away peacefully, January 19, 2023, at McLure Miller Respite House surrounded by his family.
Steve was born on December 11, 1955, in Burlington, VT, the son of Irving Paul Hatin and Marion Elizabeth Sweeney.
In January of 1973, Steve joined the Army and remained active duty until 1975. In October 1976 he joined the Navy and received an honorable discharge in 1977.
He married Linda “Lynn” Baker on September 8, 1979.
Steve worked construction most of his working life, and his family referred to him as “Mr. Fix it”. He was an outdoorsman, and loved camping, fishing, and hunting. He enjoyed Nascar, and attending the races at the local racetracks, specifically Thunder Road. He loved kicking back and having a beer with his family and friends. Steve had a never ending love for his entire family, and loved spending time with his kitties, Otis and Miss Kitty He will be missed for his charismatic, witty, and dry sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife Lynn Hatin; his children, Jeffrey Hatin and his wife Meghan, and Travis Hatin and companion Bridgette St. Pierre; his grandchildren, Kristin, Jaelynn, Jeffrey Jr., Maximus, and Athena Hatin; his sisters, Sharron (Fred) Bucklin and Nancy (Jim) Erno; and several nieces, nephews, and in-laws; many special friends.
He is predeceased by his parents, Irving, and Marion (Sweeney) Hatin; his siblings, Barbara Semancher, Betty Hatin, Donna Hurlburt, and Michael Kauffman.
A visitation will be held Saturday, February 18, from 11am-1pm at the Minor Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Milton. A prayer service will follow immediately at 1pm. In lieu of flowers please consider planting a tree in his memory.
