Ronald Gordon, Sr., a beloved husband, father, construction worker, and dairy farmer, passed away on August 12, 2024, Born on May 17, 1942, to Franklin H. and Margaret (Raymond)Gordon.
Throughout his lifetime, Ronald wore many hats - from a dedicated worker in the construction industry spending over two decades at FW Whitcomb to a nurturing caretaker of his farm in Grand Isle. His commitment to his craft was unwavering and his passion for agriculture was palpable to all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, resilience and kindness.
In his younger years, Ronald found great joy in playing softball and bowling, displaying his competitive spirit and love for sports. However, it was his simple pleasures that truly defined him - spending evenings on his porch, admiring the deer in the fields, and warmly waving at passersby, showcasing his friendly and approachable nature.
Ronald's presence brightened the lives of many, and his memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol (Turner) Gordon, his devoted children Ronald Gordon, Jr., and fiancé Robin Owen, Robert Gordon and wife Julie, Penny Gordon, Becky Gordon and fiancé Fred Winrock, his stepchildren Paula Jackson and wife Dana Brooks, and Rick Jackson and wife Maria. His eight grandchildren Chad Gordon and wife Chrissy, Kevin Gordon, Corey Gordon, Katie Gordon, Cassie Gordon and fiancé Cameron Poirier, Luke, Devon, and Levi Jackson, eight great grandchildren, His brothers Melvin Gordon, Stephen Gordon and wife Kathy. Sister in Laws Jane Gordon and Becky Turner. He also leaves behind a special loving niece Meranda Turner and nephew Cody Turner and many other nieces and nephews.
While we mourn the loss of Ronald, we find comfort in the reunion he has found with his father, mother and brother Willis Gordon, and brother in laws Billy and Pete Turner who passed before him.
Ronald Gordon Sr. will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his genuine kindness, and his infectious smile that could light up a room. May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace, knowing that he was loved and respected by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday August 20, 2024, at the Minor Funeral and Cremation Center 237 Route 7 South Milton, VT from 2:00pm to 4:00pm followed by a reception at the Eagles Club in Milton from 5:00pm to 9:00pm.
A private burial will be held the following day in Grand Isle VT.
