Obituary of Robert Lee Baker Sr.
Burlington - Robert Lee Baker Sr., 72 died on Thursday December 24, 2020 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.
Robert was born in January 11, 1948 in Burlington, the son of Arnold and Gertrude (Roque) Baker.
Bob was known for his ability to make his friends and family laugh in all situations as well as his big heart and great compassion for the underdog.
He had a special skill and passion for being a caregiver for those with Autism and developmental disabilities. His clients succeeded under his care, which he was very proud of.
He loved to fish and cook and did so for many family events. In his later years, he worked as a chef for Sirloin Saloon and at his restaurant that he co-owned in Essex called "Vidalz".
Throughout the years, Bob owned "BB Sports and Memorabilia" in Essex Junction and also promoted Sports Card Shows in the Burlington Area bringing many athletes into our area for card signing events.
He is survived by his siblings; Dolly Cabral (CA), Lois McBride and her husband Henry(NY) Janet Twichell and John Baker and his wife Pat, his former wife and friend, Michele Baker-Dinsemnore, their children; Robert L. Baker II and his wife Danielle, Andrew J. Baker and his wife Marie, Nicole Clements, Rebecca Ronga and her husband Carl, all of Essex Junction.
He is also survived by his grandchildren; Anna, Benjamin, and Carolyn Baker, Alexis, Robert III and Katlyn Baker, Tyler and Justin Darrah, Isaiah, Amani and Rehema Ronga, his great grandchildren, Logan, Olivia , Zoe and Christa Darrah and his longtime friend Elaine Bennett of Florida
Robert was predeceased by his Father and Mother and Brother, Arnold.
A Memorial Visitation for Bob will be held on Sunday, January 17,2021 between the hours of 3 and 5PM in the Funeral Home.
