Robert Smith

Burlington--Robert H. Smith, 79 of Colchester, passed away March 31, 2023, at Elderwood at Burlington.

Robert was born on May 25, 1943, in Vergennes, and was a son of Marilyn Sprague and Guy Smith.

He married Theresa Francis on June 28, 1985, in Colchester.

Robert was a dairy farmer then had worked for Casella for over twenty years. He enjoyed hunting fishing and was a proud member of the NRA. He also was a softball umpire and enjoyed bowling watching, baseball and football. He loved to travel with his wife.

He is survived by: his wife Theresa Smith his children and step children Bruce Smith and his partner Sharon of Vergennes, Brian Francis and his wife Donna of Georgia, Danny Francis and his wife Kelly of Cambridge, Thomas Francis and his wife Anne of Winooski, and Michele Francis of Colchester; his 12 grandchildren, his many great-grandchildren; his siblings Wayne Smith and Minda Smith both of Salisbury and his special friends Lyle, Robert and Rich.  

He is predeceased by his father Herman Smith, and two of his children, Kim Ploof and Robert Smith.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday April 6th, 4-6pm in the Minor Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Milton. Father Feltz will say prayers at 4PM.
