Robert Lynn Burritt, 73 of Milton, passed away on November 1st, 2024, at the McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester. He was born on October 20th, 1951, in Burlington, Vermont, to Rollin and Cecelia [Driscoll] Burritt.
Throughout his life, Robert's passion for farming and expertise in the heating industry shone brightly. As the owner and operator of R.L Burritt Monitor Heating for over 40 years, he built a successful business from the ground up, showcasing his unparalleled intelligence and ingenuity in all he did. Prior to opening his business, Robert was a hard-working farmer. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t build or fix. His love for motorcycles and vacations in Bar Harbor, Maine, brought him joy and many beautiful memories. Robert's life was defined by his kindness, compassion, and relentless work ethic. His ability to tackle any challenge and his unwavering commitment to his family and community will forever be cherished.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Deanna Burritt, his children; Heather (Eric) Adams of Monkton, Shawn Burritt of St. George, Greg Burritt of Bristol, Jody (Stacie) Chamberlain of Massachusetts, Amy (Doug) Landry of Georgia, Brad Barnes of St. Albans, Stacey (Mark) Halverson of Williston, and Eric (Nicole) Barnes of Williston, his siblings; Thomas (Patricia) Burritt of Texas, William Burritt of Manchester, NH, John (Robin) Burritt of Colchester, and Judith Burritt of Shelburne, his sisters-in-law; Deborah Amos of Milton, and Lori Ellis of Florida, his brother-in-law, Louis Murray Jr. of Bolton, his uncle-in-law, Armand Murray of Milton, 17 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren as well as countless other friends and family.
He is predeceased by his beloved grandparents, Marvin and Ethel Burritt, parents, Rollin and Cecelia Burritt, his brothers; Theodore “Ted” Burritt and Charles “Chuck” Burritt, his father-in-law, Louis Murray Sr., and his mother-in-law, Jean Searles.
A committal service will take place at the Mountain View Cemetery in Essex on November 13th, 2024, at 1:00pm. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 17th, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars, 73 Pearl Street, Essex Junction.
