St. Albans- Robert Edward Abair, 34, passed away March 7, 2023 after losing an ongoing battle with addiction. Robert was born on November 24, 1988, in Burlington, Vermont, the Son of the late Ralph James Abair and Janet (Zierdt) Abair.
Robert graduated high school from Bellows Free Academy in St. Albans and went on to earn an associates degree in Automotive mechanics from the University of Northeastern Ohio.
Robert enjoyed playing baseball as a catcher all through his school years. He had a passion for auto mechanics and loved a good conversation on the topic. He never wanted to be known for his addiction, and mistakes, he was an intelligent teenager who fell into it's grip. It can happen to anyone. He lit up a room with his smile and personality even while struggling with his demons.
He is survived by, his children, Kayden, and Cameron Abair; his mother, Janet (Zierdt) Abair; his sisters, Margie Farnsworth and husband Curtis, and Kathleen Abair and companion Christopher Caswell; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is predeceased by his father Ralph James Abair.
His family will be holding a private celebration of life in the spring.
