South Hero - Richard I. Hazen Jr., "Rick", age 55, passed away on Monday, February 21st, 2022 at the UVM Medical Center after a long illness, surrounded by his family. He was born August 2nd, 1966 in Burlington. Rick spent most of his life in the Islands. He had a love for plants and flowers, and loved his birds, always feeding them. Rick loved whittling wood, playing the harmonica, and cooking. He worked many years at Maynard's and Willie Racine's in the auto parts department. Rick is survived by his parents, Jacqueline Hamlin of Winooski and Richard I and Cintra Hazen of South Hero, brother Robert Hazen and sister Erica Hazen. Aunts and Uncles; Linda (Hazen) and Ed Norris, Neil and Diane Hazen, Wendy Hazen, Patricia Bouchard, Martin and Arlene Santor, and Tim Lewis. Cousins; Ellen Norris, Jeremy Hazen, Adam, Joshua and Jacob Mashtare, Pyper Astleford-Hazen, Lauri Ellis, Joseph and Michael Courtemanche, Lisa Couch, Marty Santor, Nikita Lenahan, Tina Burns. Great Aunts; Lorraine Deyo and Pauline Santor. His godchild; Connor McMillan, and special friends; Pete and Cindy Lavigne, Richard Lavigne, Andy McMillan, Shane Rooney, and from C.I.D.E.R., Bob Lavigne, Debbie Piche, and many more close friends. He loved his family and friends and would do anything for them. Rick is predeceased by his Grandparents; Arthur and Betty (Bleau) Hazen and Edward and Theresa (Santor) Parks, Norman and Barbara Lewis and his cousin, Eric Norris.
