Burlington

Phyllis M. Campbell of Burlington, VT, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, after a long battle with cancer. Born to Florence and Wendell Wilcox of Evansville, VT, Phyllis graduated from Lakes Region High School in 1969. She went on to work for New England Telephone, retiring after 25 years of dedicated service to pursue her dream job: raising her three children.

Phyllis was a loving and devoted wife and mother, always putting those she loved first. Known for her infectious laughter and bright outlook on life, she was the positive light in any room. Her greatest joy were her children and grandchildren, and she lived to see their happiness.

Phyllis is survived by her husband of 38 years, Edward H. Campbell, and their three children: Scott Campbell and his wife Jaime, with grandchildren Tyler, Colby and his fiancée Felicia Brown, and Ava and her fiancé Jack Smith; Cory Campbell and his wife Allison, along with their beloved dogs Daisy, Cash, and Walker; and Janel Laflam and her husband Ben, with grandchildren Rowan, Weston, and Nora.

As the second eldest of five siblings, Phyllis took on the “Mom” role at an early age, often cooking and cleaning for her entire family. She is predeceased by her parents Florence and Wendell, and brother Wendell Wilcox Jr. and survived by her brothers Calvin Wilcox, Kermit Wilcox, and Craig Wilcox and his wife Pamela Wilcox.

Phyllis’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy lives on through her family, whose lives she touched so profoundly.

In accordance with Phyllis's wishes all services will be private.
