Philip J Murray, Sr.

Philip J. Murray went to be with his beloved wife, Carolyn on May 26, 2022. Philip was born on February 26, 1942 in Burlington VT, son of Lyman and Bernice (Gabaree) Murray. Philip married the love of his life on March 4, 1966 in Elizabethtown, NY. Philip started his career in the United States Navy from 1960-1966 aboard the Franklin D. Roosevelt. Where he received, many ranks and promotions. Philip went on to become a Structural Mechanic. Philip and Carolyn also owned and operated Pete's Ice Cream in Burlington, VT and McCasey's Pub in Essex Jct., VT. Philip was a Proud Veteran of the United States Navy. Philip was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, The American Legion Post #91, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #4218. Philip made wonderful memories of traveling with his beloved wife Carolyn to Casinos, Florida, Hawaii, and many camping trips with family. Philip also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, playing poker, and cribbage with family and friends. We can't forget the great memories he made with his brothers Larry and Patrick singing and playing guitars, entertaining friends and family for many years. Philip is survived by the two other loves of his life, his children, Lisa Cummings and her husband Robin, Philip Murray Jr. and his wife Aneda. His beloved grandchildren Dustin, Zachary, Vallary, Hillary, and Aivvary. His brother Patrick Murray and his wife Kathy, his sister Janet LeClair and her husband Roger. His sister in-laws Judy, and Barb Willard and her partner Todd Gokey. Good friends Elaine and Howard Kirby. Many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, and his cat Minou. Philip was predeceased by his parents Lyman and Bernice Murray, his wife Carolyn, his brother Larry, his Mother-in-law Evelyn Casey, and many other family members. Dad was one of the best men on this Earth. He truly was "One of the Good Ones". Funeral Services were Private per Philip's request. Arrangements are through Minor Funeral Home, Milton VT. In lieu of flowers Philip asked donations be made to your preferred Humane Society.
