Marjorie "Marge" Bourgeois

Marjorie A. Bourgeois, 98, a longtime Milton resident passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester surrounded by family. 

Marge was born on July 22,1926 in Cambridge VT, the daughter of the late Guy and Zelda (Lamell) Paradee. Marge married John Bourgeois on July 28, 1945. John and Marge owned and operated Bourgeois Texaco Station and Wrecker Service in Milton for many years. 

Marge was a past member of the Eastern Star Chittenden Chapter #59. 

Over the years Marge enjoyed going to stock car races and watching two people close to her heart race, Beaver and Bobby Dragon. She also faithfully watched NASCAR and cheered Kyle Busch on. Marge belonged to a bowling league and attended the Senior Citizens bingo nights. She loved going on car rides, shopping and trips to Maine with her family and friend Sally White. She also loved frequenting the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino with Jane Dragon and David Trayah, which she was still doing just prior to her passing. However Marge’s favorite thing to do was spending time with her great grandchildren Piper and Levi and allowing them to do many silly things to her. 

Marge is survived by her daughter Jacquelyn Root and her husband Gary of Milton VT, her son John Bourgeois and his husband Brian Roy of Milton VT, son in law Lewis Peltier and his partner Kathy Russell of Milton VT. Her grandchildren Brandy Peltier of Milton VT, Casey Root of Washington DC, Kelsey Burbo and her husband James of Milton VT. Her great grandchildren Piper and Levi Burbo of Milton VT. As well as many nieces and nephews. 

Marge is predeceased by her husband John Bourgeois, daughter Paulette Peltier, sister Barbara Russell and brother Jack Paradee. 

Marge requested that there be no funeral services. 

In memory of Marge Bourgeois contributions may be made payable to the Town of Milton for the flag trust created for the maintenance of flags along Route 7 in Milton, in c/o Town Clerk, PO Box 18, Milton, VT 05468
