Burlington, VT--Marion Paris, 76, passed away April 12, 2021 at University of Vermont Medical Center. Marion was born on December 14, 1944 in Burlington, VT, the Daughter of Kenneth Robinson and Angeline (Sweeney). Marion was a Social Worker for various agencies within the state of Vermont, but always working with children. Her career started at UVM Medical Center in the 1960’s as a social worker for the hospital. She then turned her focus to working for the state of Vermont as a social worker for children. During her 47 year career, there are many children who benefited from her care and devotion. She was very passionate about her kids and always determined to make it better for them. These attributes, led her to have a wonderful reputation within the state. She was known as a person that people could turn to for help in finding what was best for the children they were supporting. She became a strong advocate for children in the foster care system. She believed in supporting them to help them move towards becoming adults. Marion helped the Vermont Foster Parent Association start a golf tournament to raise money for children in the foster care system to build a scholarship fund for college. She strongly believed the children had the ability and right to access their education beyond high school. Marion was also a person many people went to for help and support in many things. She supported many of her daughters' friends while they were growing up. Her house was a place of sanctuary for all of them. She was a parent who was fun loving and participated in her daughters love of horses. Marion supported this hobby by finding jobs at the horse shows to avoid holding the horses. She would show her love and support to everyone at the shows. She is survived by her daughter Maria Paris, and her 4 legged fur babies, Tonka, Scrappy, Sasha and Stash. Marion’s love of animals started at a young age. She always had dogs and cats while growing up. She even had a pet goose. This love continued throughout her whole life. She is predeceased by her father, Kenneth Robinson; mother, Angeline Robinson; sister, Betty (Robinson) LeClair. Marion’s love of life was awe inspiring. Everything she did, she did with passion and commitment. She believed in those around her. She did not sugar coat what she believed in. She would tell you like it was, but always offer solutions or strategies to movie forward. At this time the family has made the decision to celebrate Marion’s life in the summer. Marion will be laid to rest at a later date as well. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to a charity for animals. Please donate to Homeward Bound in Middlebury, Vermont.
