On this day, we say goodbye to the beloved Lynn Bedell, born on August 23, 1951, in Burlington, VT, as she peacefully passed away at the McClure Miller Respite House on September 27th, 2024.

Lynn was a passionate and multi-talented soul who found joy in crafting, quilting, and sewing. She married William “Bill” Bedell, whom she adored deeply, on August 15th, 1987, at the Georgia Plains Baptist Church. She was a proud member of the “Fab Four” along with Sandy, Barb and Marilyn.

A dedicated member of the Vermont National Guard, Lynn served bravely for 28 years, beginning her service on November 6, 1974, and ultimately retiring on June 12, 2002 as a Warrant Officer, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of commitment and service to her country. After her military retirement, she began her “civilian service” in the Vermont Guard for the Family Readiness Program and helped expand the program to help as many service members and their children as she could. This position was fitting for Lynn, as she was able to continue to serve but in a different facet. The Family Readiness Group certainly appreciated her leadership and the bonds that were made.

Lynn is survived by her beloved husband, Bill Bedell. her son Cristopher Gaudette of St. Albans, and her stepchildren Heather Hathaway and her partner Mark Favreau of Enosburgh, and Heath Bedell and his partner Sue Smith of St. Albans. Lynn's siblings; William (Gail) Hance of Winooski, Loretta Woodall of Bennington, and Ron Martin of Bennington, her grandchildren; Corey Putnam, Alex Berube Putnam, Katelyn Snider, Halayna Smith-Bedell and Rebecca Smith, her great-grandson Finn Snider. Lynn also leaves behind many special nieces and nephews along with so many friends. Lynn touched so many people’s lives and will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be held on Thursday October 3, 2024 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm at the Minor Funeral and Cremation Center 237 RT 7 South Milton, VT. Prayer service with Pastor Tyler Smith beginning at 4:00pm. A reception will follow at the Georgia Plains Baptist Church 1493 Stone Bridge Rd Milton, VT.
