Enosburg Falls--Leonard Craig Highter, 55, passed away October 29, 2022, at UVM Medical Center with his family by his side. Leonard was born on December 19, 1966, in Proctor VT, the son of Leonard David Highter. Sadly, at a young age Leonard's father passed away and he was then raised by his uncle and aunt Robert and Ruth Earely. Leonard was a soldier in the Air National Guard and served almost 5 years as a fire protection specialist. Leonard and Sue Jean started a relationship in the early 90's and spent 30 wonderful years together. Leonard worked in transportation most of his working life and was a volunteer fire fighter for many years on many different departments, including South Burlington, Georgia, and Fairfax. He enjoyed crafting models, Nascar, working on his trucks, spending time with his beloved pets, and was a huge wolf enthusiast. He is survived by his wife Sue Jean, and her children of whom Leonard thought of as his own, Tina Mossey and husband Rob, Laura Zeman and husband Mike, Evette Beaudion and husband Tony, Jeremy Murray and Paul Murray and Mary Hill; his 16 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren that he was very proud of; his blood brother Joe Dailleboust and very special extended family member Derek Dailleboust; and his beloved dog Duke. He is predeceased by his father Leonard D. Highter; his dear stepson David Murray; brothers, David Earley and Darcey Earley. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2022, from 2-4 PM at the Minor Funeral Home in Milton, VT.
