Leo F. Reardon, fondly known as “Frank”, passed away peacefully at his home, on November 11, 2024, in Milton Vermont. He was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on August 24, 1931. He is the son of the late Leo J. Reardon and Anna H. Reardon. Frank also had two brothers, Robert Reardon and Jack Reardon, who predeceased him.
Frank enlisted in the U.S. Air Force right out of high school where he served his country for twenty years. His tours of duty took him to Germany, Iceland, Vietnam, Alaska, Guam, North Dakota, Maine and Massachusetts.
He was initially stationed at Fort Ethan Allen. Soon thereafter, he met the love of his life, Shirley Reardon, at Bill’s Diner in Winooski. They got married early that summer and were happily married for 67 years. After retiring from the Air Force, he took a job at the U.S. Postal Service, where he ultimately worked for another twenty-three years.
Frank had a quick wit and was known for his famous puns and one-liners. He always tried to find the humor in life, even on his last day. Frank was a talented musician and an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He was a devoted family man and loving husband. He loved to play cribbage and enjoyed watching classic movies.
Frank is survived by his wife Shirley Reardon, son Thomas Reardon and his wife Audrey, son Michael Reardon, Grandsons; Matthew Reardon and Michael “Mikey” Reardon, Granddaughters; Amanda Reardon and Krystie Godin, Great Granddaughters; Oceana Reardon, Tyler Reardon and Izzabella Godin.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday November 19, 2024 beginning at 11AM at St. Ann Church in Milton, VT. Committal service will take place on Wednesday November 20, 2024 at 11AM at the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Winooski, VT.
