Laura A. Harris, 83, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at the McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester, Vermont with loving family by her side. Laura was born on October 31, 1941 in South Hero, Vermont to Leon Wescott Sr. and Rosanna (Hoag) Wescott.

Laura graduated from Milton High School in June 1959 and married Rodney Harris Sr. on September 9, 1959 at St Rose of Lima in South Hero. 

From her childhood job at Mount Philo to her start at Thermal Wire through to her retirement from IBM, Laura loved her work and the dear friends she made at each place along the way. Most of all, Laura loved her family and enjoyed bringing them together every birthday and holiday. 

She enjoyed gardening; planting both large vegetable gardens and beautiful flowers. She later spent much time watching and feeding the variety of birds that came to her house all year long. Her love of animals showed throughout her life. 

She is survived by: her children, Rodney Harris Jr. of North Hero; Randy Harris of Grand Isle; Rex Harris of Grand Isle; and Pamela Harris and Frank Corbo of Georgia; as well as her much loved grand children and very special great grand children; her sister, Mary (Rudy) Lopez of Arizona; and her brother, Leon (Emily) Westcott Jr., of Colchester. 

She was predeceased by her husband, Rodney Harris Sr.; her sister, Lillian Tourville; her brother, Ralph Wescott, and her sister, Virginia Vincent. 

A celebration of her life will be held on a future date.
