Juna Jane Poquette

Colchester, VT--Juna J Poquette, 93, passed away July 21, 2022 at McClure Miller Respite House with her loving family by her side. Juna was born on April 23, 1929 in Burlington, Vt, the daughter of Donald Martell and Evelyn Ledeau. She married Paul Poquette on April 19, 1950 and spent over 50 amazing years together. Paul and Juna owned and operated a catering business called Take Ten catering in South Burlington for nineteen years, then purchased and operated a hotel in Winooski for many years after. Before retirement they enjoyed RVing to Florida and North Carolina with their son Donald. After retiring they wintered in Florida, returning to Vermont for the summer. Juna was very social, loving, and adventurous. She loved all nature, but specifically hummingbirds. She is survived by her son Donald Poquette and Jolene Kinney of Colchester; son David Poquette and Theresa Hodgnon of Virginia; and daughter Paula Poquette and Edward Cota of Colchester; nine grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and a very special cat Achoo. She is predeceased by her husband Paul Poquette, and sister Bette Jordan. A Celebration of Life will be in The American Legion Post 91 on Roosevelt Highway in Colchester. Saturday August 27th 2022 from 1:00PM to 4:00 PM.
