Joseph "Joey" McRae

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joey McRae, a beloved son, father, brother and friend, who left us on January 1st 2025 at the age of 52. Joey was born on June 1st 1972 in Burlington, VT. 

 Joey developed his strong work ethic by working at the family business, McRae Towing and Auto. Joey had a love for his family, the outdoors and motorsports. 

 He is survived by his parents, George and Patricia McRae of Milton, his cherished children, Abigail McRae and her fiancé J.T. Blanchard of Georgia and their son Jett Blanchard, his son Tyler McRae of Milton and his partner Melinda Laquerre of East Montpelier, and their mother Holly McRae of Milton, his siblings Sandra (Dan) Wells of Green Valley, AZ, Amanda (Craig) Stevens of Milton and their children Brady and Parker, Amy (Shawn) Rainville of Highgate and their children Jack and Pauline, and nephew Jason (Viviana) Wells of Louisiana, as well as many more friends and family. 

 All are invited to gather as we celebrate Joey’s life. A visitation will be held at Minor Funeral Home on January 12th 2025 at 11AM, with a memorial service to begin at 1:00PM. It will be a time to remember moments spent, memories made and laughs shared with Joey. Please bring your best story or funniest memory with Joey and in true Big Joe fashion all “putzes” are welcome.
