Obituary of Jeffrey F. Barrows
Jeffrey F. Barrows, 58 of Milton, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016 after a brief, courageous battle with cancer.
Jeff was born December 31, 1957 in Burlington, the son of the late Keith and Ila Cross Barrows. He was a member and employee of The New England Carpenters Union as a Master Finish Carpenter, local union 1996. His trade allowed him to travel from Connecticut to Texas and New Jersey to California. He was a hard worker who always put his family first. He had a big heart and was always there to help others.
An avid outdoorsman, he loved gardening, hunting, fishing and being on his boat. A wonderful chef, he enjoyed barbeques and entertaining his family at family gatherings. He will be dearly missed.
Jeff is survived by his children, Christopher Barrows of Milton, Stephanie Barrows of Burlington and Joleen Popescu of North Carolina. His grandchildren, Cameron Barrows, Alyssa Barrows and Jacob Popescu. His former wife and mother of his children, Karen Court of North Carolina. His brothers and sisters, Brenda Legacy of Colchester, Kevin Barrows and his wife Lynn of South Hero, Gina McSweeney and her husband, Donny of Milton and Ricky Barrows and his wife, Nancy of Georgia. His two aunts, Josephine Pelletier and Pauline Gordon and her husband, Leland and his uncle, Arlon Cross and his wife Caroline. His cousin, with whom he shared a special bond, Fay Pelletier. As well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, his grandparents, Oliver and Rose Cross. His brother, Mitchell Barrows. His uncle, George Pelletier and his aunt and uncle Marie and Gerard Burnett.
Jeff's family wishes to thank Dr. Whitney and the staff at the UVMMC for the kind and compassionate care they provided him while he was under their care.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday March 30, 2016 from 4 to 7 with a funeral service at 7 PM in the Minor Funeral Home, Route 7 in Milton. Burial will be held on Friday, April 1st at 11 AM in St. Ann's Cemetery on Middle Road in Milton.
