Jeffery David Buehner

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of David Jeffery “Jeff” Buehner on November 26, 2024, following a long illness.

 Jeff was born on April 15, 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio to Joseph Buehner and Irene Kelly Buehner. He earned his Bachelors degree from John Carroll University in 1962. Following graduation, he embarked on a career as an elementary school teacher. He taught sixth grade for 34 years in the Burlington School District, retiring in 1996.

Jeff was an avid reader and poet who wrote several volumes of poetry throughout his adult life. He enjoyed music of many genres, including early rock especially Elvis, Celtic, movie themes, popular and classical. He was also a movie buff.

A devoted Roman Catholic, Jeff was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church in Colchester.

Surviving Jeff are his brother Timothy Buehner of Calgary, Alberta; and sisters Ardys Dillon of Yulee, FL, and Terry Buehner of Colchester. Also surviving Jeff are his niece Jennifer Dillon Thayer of Yulee FL, Jonathan Dillon of Prescott, AZ, and Michael Dillon of Okinawa. Also Surviving Jeff are six grand-nieces and nephews whom he adored. 

Visiting hours will be held at Minor Funeral Home in Milton on Thursday December 5th from 4PM to 6PM. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Church in Colchester on Friday December 6th at 1PM. Burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
