Janice Elizabeth Caswell-Arnold

Janice Elizabeth Caswell- Arnold, beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on August 3,2024. She was born on August 22, 1939,in Burlington as Janice Elizabeth Caswell. Janice dedicated over 45 years of her life working for the town of Grand Isle in various roles until she eventually became the full-time lister. Her commitment to her community was unwavering, and she received recognition for her hard work when she was awarded Lister of the Year by Senator Bernie Sanders. She was Vermont’s first female recipient of the award!

Those who knew Janice understood that she was a loving and caring woman with a passion for lawn care. She found solace in mowing lawns on her Cub Cadet tractor, finding beauty in the simplicity of nature. Beyond her work and hobbies, she also found joy in activities like bowling, following NASCAR races - with Rusty Wallace being her favorite racer, supporting the Boston Red Sox, and indulging in the sport of ice fishing.

Janice is survived by her son Joseph Arnold and his wife,Sunday Gendron. She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Ryan Arnold and his wife Cheyenne, Wyatt Baker and his wife Kathleen, as well as two great-grandchildren Riley and Storm. Janice is preceded in death by her parents Dora and George Caswell, her daughter Dori Fairbanks, and her sister Gwendlyn Cameron.

 A visitation to honor Janice's life will be held at Minor Funeral and Cremation Center at 237 Route US-7, Milton, VT 05468 on Saturday August 17th, 2024, 1PM to 3PM.

Janice will be remembered not only for her professional accomplishments but also for the love and care she shared with all those around her. Her dedication to her work and family serves as an inspiration to us all. May she rest in peace knowing that she made a profound impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
