Jane Lawrence

June 26, 1943 — October 9, 2024

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jane Christine Lawrence, who passed away at the Elderwood Nursing Home in Burlington. Jane was born on June 26, 1943, in Burlington, VT, to the late Richard E. Fuller Sr., and Martha J. [Quinn] Fuller.

Jane dedicated her professional career to serving others as a custodian at the University of Vermont where she fostered great relationships with the students. Jane married the love of her life, the late James Roy Lawrence, at the United Church of Milton on June 13th, 1964, where they spent many happy years together until his passing in 2001. They shared an amazing sense of humor together and could often be found in their garden, walking hand-in-hand. Anyone who knew Jane knew that she was a huge animal lover. Whether it was her beloved cats and dogs, or the family of Hummingbirds that would come to visit, you could be sure she was in her element whenever pets were around. She shared a special bond with her late dog, Lady Bug, whom she loved tremendously. Jane was also an avid baker and cook, her famous apple pies come to mind and will be dearly missed!

She is survived by her daughters; Kathi Lawrence of Winooski and Laurie Cousineau of New Haven. She also leaves behind Robert “Bob” Emmons, her nephew/son, and Dawn Paquette, her niece/daughter. As well as her brother Christian “Crick” Fuller, and her grandchildren; Jamie, Kassandra, Joshua, Amanda and Brian Cousineau, plus her fur grandchild Gabriella Lawrence, great-grandchild Chloe Moore, and her dog Duchess Hope who is being care for by Jasmin Durkee in Hartford, NY.

Jane is predeceased by her parents, Richard and Martha Fuller and siblings, Ronald Fuller, Eva Emmons, Homer Fuller, Richard Fuller Jr., and Donald Fuller.

A committal service to celebrate Jane’s life will take place at the South Hero Cemetery on October 19, 2024 at Noon.
