Irene Jane Lammott

Irene Jane Potvin Lammott passed away July 14, 2022 peacefully in her home surrounded by family. Irene was born on July 19, 1939 in Holyoke, MA, the daughter of Stephanette Laverdure Potvin and Philip Potvin. Irene went to O'Brien's Vermont College of Cosmetology in Burlington, Vt. She retired from IBM in 1994 and spent the next few years caring for her grandchildren. Irene was humble about her accomplishments, but she was an avid bowler playing on many leagues winning several trophies. She also enjoyed playing golf with her family and friends. She loved to read and build puzzles. She loved the snow and the changing seasons in Vermont. She was artistic and crafty. In her younger years she made dolls and doll clothing for her daughters and granddaughters. She painted beautiful acrylics on canvas paintings which are proudly displayed in the homes of her family. She gathered weekly around the card table with her siblings, cousins, grandkids, nieces, nephews and friends. The love of playing cards extended through the entire Potvin family. She had a love of water and enjoyed spending sunny, summer days by the river and loved taking her grandchildren to Brown’s River by her family farm. She will always be known as a caring, loving, and selfless mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Irene is survived by her 4 children: daughter Trudy and Carl Dudley, daughter Wendy and Stan Westcom, daughter Sherry and Greg Simoneau, son William and Pam Lammott, 12 grandchildren: Darryl and Nina Dudley, Lucas Westcom, Lauren Dudley and fiancé Richard, Ashley and Andrew Soutiere, Cameron Westcom and Kayla, Warren Lammott, Devon Westcom and Craig, Benjamin Rabidoux, Dani-Rae Lammott, Kivy Lammott, and Kieran Lammott; 10 great grandchildren, her dear sister and lifelong friend Annette Potvin Koch (with whom enjoyed taking drives) and siblings Louise Minor, Rita Maloney, Ellen Schigg, Robert Potvin, Susan Rooney, Raymond Potvin, Linda Martin, Doris Wildes, Mary Rooney, David Potvin. She was predeceased after 50 years of marriage by her husband Lawrence Allen Lammott whom she married on August 25, 1962 in St Luke’s Church in Fairfax, sister June Potvin Engemann, brother Leon Potvin and granddaughter Heidi Rabidoux. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday July 19, 2022 from 11:00- 1:00 with a service led by Father Feltz at 1:00. On the 83rd anniversary of the day of her birth, Irene will be laid to rest in St. Luke's Cemetery in Fairfax.
