Essex Junction - India Pearl Bluto, 88, died unexpectedly on Sunday August 21, 2016.
India was born on January 3, 1928 in Underhill, the daughter of Millard and Mable ( Lambert ) Bluto.
She graduated from the Fanny Allen School of Nursing in 1951 and worked for the Mary Fletcher Hospital as a Registered Nurse in Burlington until retiring in 1988.
India had lived in Fairfield for many years before moving to Essex Junction.
She is survived by her special friends Stan and Gwen Combs of Fairfield and by many cousins.
She was predeceased by her sister Merle Bluto in 2012 and her longtime partner Marcel Gonyeau.
Memorials in India's memory may be made to the American Heart Association, VT Affiliate Inc., 434 Hurricane Lane, Williston, VT 05495.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 from 4-6pm in the Minor Funeral and Cremation Center in Milton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday August 25, 2016 at 11 am in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grand Isle, with burial following in the Grand Isle Cemetery.
