Howard Arthur Parish

Saint Albans, VT--Howard Arthur Parish, 85, passed away peacefully, December 2, 2022, at St. Albans Health and Rehab, with his family by his side. Howard was born on September 18, 1937, in Chester, WV, the Son of the late Arthur Parrish and Edith (Bailey). Howard joined the United States Air Force in 1956 as an airman and received an honorable discharge in 1959. He married Joan Chaffee on July 12, 1958, at Holy Angels Church and they were married for 52 years. Howard wore many hats in his life, working at IBM, Immigration, Champlain Drug & Alcohol, and the longest being a Pastor for over 30 years at several different churches. In his free time Howard enjoyed fishing, bowling, preaching, but mostly shopping, especially Price Chopper. He is survived by: Joan Parish of Fairfax; his daughter, Robbin, and husband Lorin Ladd of St. Albans; grandson, Daniel Ladd (Valerie) and great grandchildren Parker and Raelynn; grandson Harrison Ladd (Alyssa) and great grandchildren Ishani and Bennett Howard; and granddaughter Bethany Ladd and her children Ashley, Brooke, and Jace; and his sister Grace Kourpus of West Virginia. He is predeceased by his father, Arthur Parrish; mother, Edith Parrish; and siblings, Elsie, Ralph, Helen, and Marion. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, from 5-7 PM, in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at 10 AM at the United Church in Milton. A committal service with military honors will take place in the spring of 2023.
