Obituary of Helena Beryl King
Milton,
Helena Beryl King, 94, of Milton died peacefully Monday, March 6, 2017 in the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, surrounded by her loving family. Beryl was born August 7, 1922 in Grand Isle, the oldest daughter of the late Austin Bluto, Sr. and Gladys Berry Bluto. She attended grammar school in Grand Isle and graduated from Enosburg Falls High School, Class of 1940. On May 22, 1947, Beryl, married Carl William King, who predeceased her on May 31, 1981.
Beryl was a communicant of St. Ann Catholic Church and a member of the Milton Women's Club. She enjoyed reading and word search puzzles, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. You could find her holding court each July at the annual Bluto Reunion and presiding over Family Christmas each December.
Beryl is survived by her children, Carlene Bruchs, John King, Francis King and his wife, Shirley and Barbara King. Her grandchildren, Amanda Sheridan (Michael), Colby Bruchs (Lesley Hanscom), Christopher King (Kerri), Casey King, Lynn Santerre (Dana), Tammy Thibault (Gerard), Brenda Muir, Joseph King, Peggy King, Priscilla King, Debra Prochorovas (Alex) and Steven Bennett (Karen); Her great grandchildren, Scott Santerre, Joshua Santerre, Heather Langevin (Josh), Kylie Thibault (Greg Silvestri), Kelsie Thibault, Sarah Young and Sean Bennett and her great great grandson, Parker Gerard Langevin. Two sisters; Jerilyn Gordon and Marilyn Provost; her brother in law, Roland (John) Gratton and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Beryl was predeceased by her daughters; Dorothy Perry and her husband, Fletcher, Jr. and Shirley Bennett; her son in law, Richard L. Bruchs, daughter in law, Martha King; her siblings and in laws, Austin, Jr. (Clara), Alma Santor (Keith), Roland (Cora), Francis (Constance), Evangeline Morin (Louis), Charlotte Gratton (Joseph), Veronica Gratton, Larand (Dorothy), Robert Gordon and Raymond Provost, Elizabeth Sweeney (George) and Ned King.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Anne Morris, for her care and support to Beryl, as well as the staff and caregivers at Green Mountain Nursing Home for the care, compassion and friendship shown to Beryl over the last nine months.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 4 to 8 PM in the Minor Funeral Home, Route 7 in Milton. Vigil prayers will be offered at 7:45 by Fr. John G. Feltz. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11 AM in St. Ann Catholic Church, 42 Main Street in Milton with Fr. Bernard E. Gaudreau, celebrant. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Route 104 A in Georgia.
