It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Gladys Alger, who passed away on August 6, 2024. Gladys was born on March 13, 1939, in Burlington. She lived a full and vibrant life, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

 Gladys dedicated her working years to service, having been employed at Marty’s Sculpture as a painter and later at Hannaford's. Her strong work ethic and attention to detail were in all that she did. Notably, Gladys was also a military wife for many years. She married Raymond on February 20, 1960, she supported her husband throughout his years of service.

 Those who knew Gladys will remember her as someone who never shied away from speaking her mind. Her candor was balanced by her deep love for family and friends. Gladys had a special place in her heart for her loved ones, always offering unwavering support and care.

 In her leisure time, Gladys found joy in simple moments like riding in the car, admiring nature's beauty, and trying her luck at the casino. These activities brought her immense happiness and allowed her to create lasting memories with those closest to her.

 Gladys is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Alger; father, Guy Burns; mother, Margurite; all siblings; son, Pat Alger; granddaughter, Anna; grandson, James Alger; and faithful companion Muffin. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

 She is survived by her daughter Becky Deyette; grandchildren, Chris Alger, Ryan Alger, Matthew Alger, Ashley Alger, Virgina Alger, Jenn Banyea, Amanda Moore, great-grandchildren Destiney, Dillon Banyea, Hailey Banyea, Jaidyn Banyea, Keenan Alger, Haley Alger, Kayia Alger, Jamie Bascom; as well as canine companions Mickey and Cash.

 The memory of Gladys Alger will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace knowing she was cherished by many.

Services will be held at the Minor Funeral and Cremation Center, 237 Route 7 South Milton, VT, on August 14, 2024. Visiting hours 10 - 12, Funeral Service will be held at 12 and later followed by a Burial at Mountain View Cemetery in Essex.
