George spent many years working with horses and as a farm hand before embarking on a remarkable 37-year career as a long-distance truck driver with Gero Bros Moving and then Action Movers, during which he traveled extensively across 48 states and much of Quebec. His adventures on the road were filled with stories of the people he met and the places he visited, reflecting his open heart and curiosity about the world around him.

His faith and commitment to service extended beyond religious duties, as he was known for his generosity and willingness to lend a hand to those in need.
Outside of his work and community commitments, George enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as playing cards and camping at Abel Mountain Campground in Braintree. These hobbies brought him joy and allowed him to forge timeless memories with friends and family.
George was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sheila Stevens; his father, Clyde Stevens; his mother, Linnie Pierson Stevens; and his brother, William Stevens. He is survived by his nephew, Lee Stevens, close friends Kevin and Joanne Holcomb, childhood friend Malcolm Fielder, high school friend Jim White, many cousins, and many people who held a special place in his heart.
