Eric Charles Provost passed away on the morning of April 21st, 2024, at the age of 56, after a two year battle with cancer. He was at home with his beloved family. Eric was born on August 31st, 1967, in Burlington, VT. He was a longtime resident of Colchester and Essex, a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather.
Eric was an honest and straightforward man, known to many as a king of bad puns and dad jokes. He was a lifetime fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Star Trek. He stayed very active, earning his third degree black belt in Kempo Jiu Jitsu and serving as an instructor at Martial Way dojo for many years. He was a gun enthusiast, including participating in competition shooting, hunting, and serving on the Board of Directors of the Sportsman's Club of Franklin County.
Eric, along with his long-time friend and business partner Jim Cross, proudly owned and operated Twisted Wrench in South Burlington. Together they brought the company from a two man show to a well known and respected business, with employees that are considered family. In July of 2022, they expanded their operation and acquired Dave’s Williston Autocare.
Eric is survived by his wife, Michele Altadonna, his eldest daughter Kaiya Provost and her husband David Kelly, and his youngest daughter Jenna Remillard and his granddaughters Aria and Ainsley Remillard. He is also survived by his mother, Marilyn (Bluto) Provost; his stepchildren, Molly, Maren, Mason, and Myla Altadonna; and his brother, Scott Provost. He was predeceased by his father, Raymond Provost.
