Elaine Archambault

October 3, 1929 — December 25, 2024

Richford

Elaine Archambault passed away at the age of 95, after a very brief illness, early Christmas morning. She was surrounded by her loving family, at her granddaughter’s home.

Mom was one of seven children, born in Montgomery Center, to Charlie and Mary (Centabar) Lumbra on October 3, 1929. She found the love of her life in Richard Archambault, and they enjoyed 65 years of marriage. Together, in Richford, they raised their five children. Mom took great pleasure in attending all their various school activities and sports. Her generosity and love for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was remained unbound. They meant the world to her.

Throughout her entire life, right up to the end, she was not a woman to ever sit still. She was an active participant of All Saints Catholic Church where she enjoyed working their annual Christmas Bazaars, volunteering with the American Legion Auxiliary, preparing/serving tournament dinners at the Richford Country Club and volunteering for Meals on Wheels; Mom never stopped. Civically, she served on the Richford Board of Civil Authority where she especially loved working the Richford Town Meetings and the November elections. She was also very active with the Richford Beautification Committee and was a Justice of the Peace for 30 years.

In the mid 1990’s, she and Richard moved to Milton to be closer to family. There, she became a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and continued her volunteerism with the Groovy Lunch Bunch and the Arrowhead Senior Center. She quickly established a large network of friends who enjoyed their evenings of playing cards. She was a real prankster - quick to put on a silly hat or crazy costume. She loved “good trouble”. So much, that her card playing friends affectionally called her “Trouble”, a name she enjoyed! Mom never looked her age nor acted it.

During the winters, she traveled to Texas to visit her son and daughter. There, she enjoyed attending St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, volunteering for their annual spaghetti dinners and participating with Golden Years. She was always ready to do anything and everything.

Left to cherish Mom’s memory are her children Richard (Phyllis) of Sheldon, VT, Eli and Joanne of Bryan, TX, Bruce (Mary) of Uxbridge, MA and Dave (Gail) of Milton, VT. Her grandchildren Nathan (Jen) Archambault, Lacy (Andrew) Luneau, Jason Archambault, Danielle (Dylan) Jasinski, Kyle and Haley Archambault. And her great grandchildren, Avery, Aliza, Amaya, Adrian, Emily, Finnley and Oliver. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband, Richard and her grandson, Matthew. Mom was the last surviving member of her generation of Archambault’s and Lumbra’s.
