Constance Diane Cortez

Malone NY-Constance "Connie" Diane Cortez, of Colchester 50, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone. Connie was born on June 18, 1971 in Elmhurst, NY, the daughter of John Lopez and Diane Voronovich. Connie was a kind soul encompassed with love and compassion. She was driven by the need to heal, so naturally she sought a profession in nursing after serving for years as a devoted wife and tough loving mother. Her children and nursing career were her greatest pride and accomplishments. Most recently she became a travel nurse and was able to do what she enjoyed most, travel. She was a free spirit whose light kissed all she came in contact with along her travels. She danced with and on the hearts and souls of all she knew. She was proud. She was persistent. She was determined. She was loved. She was love. She is survived by: her mother, Diane Voronovich; her children, Mercedes Lopez and fiance Alicia of Port Jervis, NY, Adonis Lopez and partner Emma LaBounty of Colchester, VT, Bryanna Cortez and her partner Arthur of Richmond, VA, Dante Lopez and his partner Claire of Milford, PA, and Selena Cortez and her fiance Cody Russell of Milton; her grandchildren, Jinzel, Noah, Khyanna, Cole, Vivian, Silas, Tristan, Ezekiel, and August; her siblings Michael Afify, of AZ and Adel Afify, of NY. She is also survived by Ramon Cortez and Travis Lee, Sr. She is predeceased by her father, John Lopez and her son, Travis Lee, Jr.. Sunday 1PM-3PM will be the visitation in the Minor Funeral Home.
