Cheryl Ann (Neary)Allis

Cheryl Ann Allis, 70, of Milton, passed away in the McClure-Miller Respite House in Colchester, on January 8, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. 

Cheryl was born as a leap year baby on February 29,  1952, in Burlington, VT, the daughter of Charles and Elaine (Myers) Neary.

She married William "Bill" Allis on April 27, 1974, in the St. John Vianney Church in South Burlington, VT. Cheryl and Bill made their home and raised their children in Montague, MA, before moving back to Vermont in 2015.

Cheryl was a telephone operator most of her working life and after retirement she loved traveling and going to Florida in the winter with her late husband Bill. 

Cheryl was known for being a very kind person with a huge heart and her caring more for others than herself. She loved to hold family gatherings, the most memorable being the Fourth of July family reunion.

She is survived by: her children, Bill Allis and his wife Star of Grand Isle and Beth Tomkowicz and husband Gabe of South Burlington; her grandchildren, Madylan, Erik, and Josh Allis, and Charlie Tomkowicz; her siblings, Jim Neary (Jill) of Colchester, Mike Neary (Meredith) of Milton, Kevin Neary of South Burlington, and Lisa Leduc (Patrick) of South Burlington, and their families. Cheryl is also survived by a large extended family, and many dear friends.

She is predeceased by her husband, Bill Allis; parents, Charles and Elaine (Myers) Neary; and her brother Jeff Neary. 

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, January 28, from 11am-1pm with a service immediately following at 1 pm in the Minor Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Milton.
