Charles Blanchard

Colchester, VT - Charles Blanchard Jr., 87 of Essex Junction, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2022 at the McClure Miller Respite House. Charles was born on March 14, 1935 in Rutland, VT, the son of Charles Blanchard Sr., and Myrtle [Manning]. He married the love of his life, Clara [Emerson] in 1953. She was the light of his life and after he lost her in 2019, he couldn't wait to be with her again. Charles loved NASCAR and his family, his children will always remember that he did whatever he needed to, to ensure that they never went without. His family will miss him dearly but take comfort in knowing their parents are finally reunited. He is survived by his children; Charles Blanchard III of Swanton, Ellen (Gary) Desjardin of Summerfield, FL and Gene Blanchard of Essex Junction. His sister-in-law Jaqui Feid of Carver, MA, and his 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Myrtle Blanchard. His beloved wife, Clara Blanchard. His daughter, Lorraine Alexander. His grandsons, Christopher and Jason Desjardin. And his daughter-in-law, Debbie Blanchard. The family would like to give special thanks to: Melissa Barrup, Sara Blanchard and her sister Susan Williams. All of his coworkers at Ace Hardware, Colchester and the staff at the McClure Miller Respite house who took such good care of him while he was there.
