Carol Ann Gordon

Carol Ann Gordon of Grand Isle passed away on March 4, 2025, at the age of 78, with family by her side following a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Carol was born on September 15, 1946, to Doris and Harvey Turner of Milton, VT.

Mom was a Jane-of-all-trades and was involved in many endeavors throughout her life. In her younger years, she went to Cosmetology school in Troy, NY and became a hairdresser. She discovered that she had artistic creativity when it came to decorating cakes and worked as a cake decorator for many years. Throughout the years, she made beautiful cakes for her family and friends for special occasions.

In 1977, Carol moved back to her home state of Vermont and married her husband, Ron Gordon. Together they worked hard starting a dairy farm on their beautiful piece of land in Grand Isle, VT. They retired in 2009 after 30 years of farming to spend more time with their expanding family.

Our mom was a strong independent woman who instilled strength in her children. She carried over her love of caring for children by running an in-home daycare for many years and was known as “Aunt Carol” by the community. She always had a special place in her heart for her niece Meranda Turner and nephew Cody Turner whom she provided care, comfort, and kindness to through their early years. Mom worked for many years cleaning St. Rose of Lima Church which she enjoyed immensely. Carol and her husband Ron were part of the (CIDER) neighbors’ meal site where they would attend lunches and socialize with friends and was an important part of their community life.

Carol is survived by her children; Paula Jackson (Dana), Richard (Rick) Jackson (Maria), Becky Gordon (Fred), Ron Gordon Jr (Robin), Robert Gordon (Julie), and Penny Gordon, along with niece and nephew Meranda Turner and Cody Turner (Hannah, son Cameron). She was surrounded by her beloved grandchildren: Luke Jackson, Devon Jackson, Levi Jackson, Chad Gordon (Chrissy), Kevin Gordon, Corey Gordon (Chelsey), Katie Gordon, Cassie Gordon (Cameron) and several great-grandchildren; Bryce Gordon, Wyatt Gordon, Sieanna Gordon, Jaxon Gordon, Bailey Gordon, Evy Gordon, Carter Poirer, Chase Poirer. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law Becky Turner, brother-in-law Steve Gordon (Kathy), Melvin Gordon, sister-in-law Jane Gordon.

Visitation will be Thursday March 13, 2025 from 4PM - 7PM at Minor’s funeral Home in Milton VT. We will have reception following the visitation at the Milton Eagles club.

We would like to thank the UVM Home and Hospice Team who were an integral part of Carol’s journey. It is because of this team that mom was able to stay in the comforts of her own home, while receiving medical and spiritual care; Sarah, Tom, Joan, Keynesha and Lisa.
