Bertrand Francis Denno, Jr. (Sonny), Age 79, passed away in Florida on October 3, 2022. He was born in Burlington, Vermont, on July 30, 1943, the son of Bertrand F. Denno, Sr. and Rose M. (Bluto) Denno. Bertrand graduated from Essex Jct. High school in 1961. He earned his Associates degree in accounting from Champlain College in 1964. He married and raised his children in Winooski, VT, where he lived for over 50 years. He was an avid race fan and spent many Thursday nights at Thunder Road with his family and friends. He loved classic cars, going to car shows and balloon festivals, and spent most of his summers in his RV or at his camp in North Hero. He worked at Willis Construction as an accountant before working at IBM for 22 years. He retired in 2005. Bertrand is predeceased by his first wife, Jeannine Seyboldt (mother of his children); his second wife, Gloria Bonk Denno; his parents, Bertrand and Rose Denno; his brothers-in-law, Winston Kilburn Sr., and Jack McCoy; his best friend and companion Marcus (his dog); a niece and nephew, and many other family and friends. He is survived by his children, Gina (Denno) Fay and her husband, J.P., Melissa (Denno) Herriot and her significant other Steve Bessette, Aaron Denno and his wife, Prapha (Doy); his sisters, Marie Kilburn, Marleen McCoy, and Julie Stansbery and her husband Edward; his stepson William Bonk and his wife Martha, and his stepdaughter, Tammy Bonk. He also leaves his grandchildren, Lee Thongkham, Angela Denno, Michael and Matthew Fay, Hannah and Rachael Herriot, a great-grandson, Leon Thongkham, step-grandchildren Dillon Bonk and Shelby Blair (Bonk), several nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends. Visiting hours will be Friday, October 21, 2022, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Minor's Funeral Home in Milton, VT. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 11:00 am, at St. Francis Xavier Church in Winooski, VT. Burial will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Cancer Society or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
