Barbara June Pelkey

Isle La Motte, VT--Barbara June Pelkey, 92, passed away, November 9, 2022, peacefully with her loving daughter by her side, at McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester. Barbara was born on October 21, 1930 in Isle La Motte, VT, the Daughter of the late George and Grace (Ero) Ratta. She married Ernest Pelkey in November of 1950 and they spent 70 wonderful years married. In her younger years Barbara enjoyed gardening with Ernest and using the fresh vegetables for canning, and making jellies and jams. Barbara is remembered for her amazing job of taking care of her home and family. She is survived by her daughter, Coleen Pelkey, of Isle La Motte; two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents George and Grace (Ero) Ratta; and daughter, Patricia Doak. Barbara's daughter Coleen would like to extend a special thank you to the McClure Miller Respite house for the love and support they offered during this very difficult time. A graveside service will be held, but will be kept private at the request of the family.
