Obituary of Thomas A. Leggett
Milton, VT
Thomas A. Leggett, 56, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 23, 2016.
Tom was born October 9, 1959 in Burlington, the son of late Arnold Leggett and Anne Marie (Desautels) Leggett. He graduated in 1978 from Burlington High School. On August 22, 1980 he married the love of his life, Karen (Thibault) Leggett at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Winooski. In 1982 they moved to Milton where they raised their family.
Tom had been employed as a waste water plant operator with the city of Burlington for 36 years. Being with his family was most important to him especially spending time with his three beautiful grandchildren. He also enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, (Ice) fishing, camping and boating.
He is survived by wife, Karen of Milton and their children, Shane Leggett and his wife Nicole of Milton, Britany Griffiths and her husband Kristopher of Essex. His three grandchildren, Mckenzie Leggett, Mason and Paige Griffiths. His step-mother, Sharon Leggett of Colchester. His brothers and sisters, Judy Leggett, Susan Sweeney and her husband Robert, Timothy Leggett and his wife Tina, Todd Leggett and his wife Elizabeth, Tammy Shortsleeve and her husband Brian and Tina Rozzi and her husband Michael. His father and mother in law, Paul and Jeannette Thibault of Milton and his brothers and sister in law, Claudette VanEtten and her husband Gordon, Suzanna Snyder and her husband Thomas, Paul Thibault and his wife Belinda and Norman Thibault and his wife Dale. As well as his many nieces and nephews, extended family and close friends. He was predeceased by his sister in law, Annette Jackson and nephew, Seth Jackson.
As per Tom's wishes there will be no calling hours.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 11:00 am in St. Ann Catholic Church, Main Street in Milton with the Rev John Feltz as celebrant.
